Have high hopes and expectations for Ajmal being a true sensation at this WC with his craftiness, guile, variations, containment, attacking mindset and unorthodoxy. If he is in form and applied wisely he could be a handful on his day. The non-Test Playing nations will inevitably be clueless to him in the group stages. Specifically referring to Canada, Kenya and Zimbabwe. Am expecting him to make an impact and establish his usefulness in this line up to remind everyone of the real world class bowler he is or is capable of being.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely need to find a way of fitting him into the starting line up somehow.
I personally would drop Kami and give UA the gloves and and fit him in that way around.
If you had to drop one of the following in order to play a specialist spinner who would it be: Akhtar, Gul & Wahab? IMHO it would have to be Akhtar. Ideally, I feel we can afford to drop an extra batsmen (Kami) and play 3 front line pacers. Wahab is more than capable of sticking around and striking the ball nicely so he could do a handy job batting at number 8.
