Implications As Group Stages Close In

-If the men in green beat the Aussies on Saturday at Colombo and Sri Lanka beat New Zealand on Friday that would result in Pakistan topping the group going into the last eight.

- It’s a do or die situation for England on Thursday where and when they will take on the West Indies. If they lose the fixtures the current ICC World T20 Champions and Ashes holders will be packing their bags and eliminated from the tournament.

- If England beat the West Indies and Bangladesh lose to South Africa in their final fixture on Saturday, the tigers will not make it to the last 8 unless West Indies lose against India as well and Bangaldesh's NNR is favourable, however if England beat West Indies and Bangladesh beat South Africa then Bangladesh will still go through.

- All the major sides in Group A i.e. Australia, New Zealand, Pakistan and Sri Lanka have fully qualified for the last 8, but where they finish remains to be seen.

At this stage (15th March) I categorically predict the following:

Group A

1) Pakistan - 10

2) Sri Lanka - 9

3) Australia-9

4) New Zealand-8

Group B

1) South Africa-10

2) India-9

3) England-7

4) Bangladesh-6

Quarter Finals
Pakistan vs Bangladesh=Pakistan
Sri Lanka vs England=Lankans
Australia vs India=India
New Zealand vs South Africa=South Africa

Semis
Pakistan vs India=India
Lankans vs South Africa=South Africa

India vs South Africa Final
Winners: South Africa!
