Pakistan will be looking to go one better than they did in 2010 under Azeem Ghumman’s leadership where they reached the final after defeating the Indians and West Indies teams. Pakistan won this tournament in 2004 and 2006 under the leadership of Khalid Latif and Safraz Ahmed respectively. They have also reached the final twice. Pakistan’s players will include the likes of Babar Azam who is a cousin of the Akmal household and a batting all rounder. Usman Qadir, the son of Abdul Qadir who claimed 236 test wickets and revived the art of leg spin in a fast bowling dominant era should also be in action. Usman played for NBP in the domestic 20/20 tournament which Moin Khan organised during the holy month of Ramadan. It is the 9th time the event is being held and the 2nd time the venue will be Australia. The last time it was hosted in Australia Pakistan were runners up in 1988 with Australia securing the title.
